Macy Mitchell

Head Trainer | Barn Manager | Owner

Macy began her riding career at the young age of 5. As a junior rider she rode her way up the ranks from ponies to Junior Hunter Championships-West, and Regional Jumper Championships. Her impressive show resume includes several Hunter Derby wins and high placings, as well as high placings in Open Jumper Prix. She has competed at the regional, national and international levels and has excelled as a Professional, earning a top 3 spot with World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) as a Developing Pro and a top 6 as a Professional.

Macy received her Professional card with USEF shortly after aging out of her junior career. She discovered early on that she has a passion (and talent) for bringing up young, green horses. Her personal and professional investment in each of their development has earned some great titles; including 2024 3’6” Green Hunter Regional Championship. This experience with young horses gained her the patience and confidence to teach Hunter/Jumper and Equitation riders of all levels.

In 2017, Macy attended the Northwest School of Animal Massage and received her certification for Equine Massage Therapy. She focuses on maintenance massage and keeping our equine athletes in top performance. She has also seen positive results in rehabbing horses from injury. By adding AAH Therapy Lights to her body work to help stimulate blood flow to the area of focus, we have seen great results with both massage and light treatments.

Macy is eager to begin and complete the Trainer Certification through USEF as she continues to learn and work on her own professional development.

Supporting Staff

Jordan Beckingham- Assistant

Jordan joins us, with 30 years of equine experience, stemming from a 3-day eventing background and has her “A Traditional” and “HA Dressage” rating in Pony Club. She assists Macy in the every day training of the horses. From impeccable flat lessons, great schooling rides, and being such a pleasure to be around, she also helps with the daily care, treatments, and management of the horses. She typically stays home to hold down the fort while Macy is away at competitions, unless she tags along with her horse, Pulse (Big City Heart).

Teresa Enlgehart- Trainer

Teresa brings a lifetime of experience to AHEC. As the trainer that raised Macy from 7 years old, into the trainer and rider that she is today, we are so fortunate to have her on at our farm! Although she is partially retired, we couldn’t let her go completely!! Teresa is typically here 2 days a week during the summer and a few weeks throughout the winter, as she resides in AZ during the winter months. Lessons with Teresa are for an additional charge and all lessons are private.

Josie Yore- Groom

The newest member of our small but mighty team, Josie is the friendly face you will see buzzing around doing everything from feeding, grooming, turnouts, cleaning tack, and everything in between. She is thoughtful and kind and handles the horses with kindness and respect. We have enjoyed having her in our program!
